i know this is not essentially an adding community and i (will be a little heartbroken but) won't complain if the moderators choose to delete this post, but i'm more or less new to LJ and would like to read and interact with people writing about queer issues on a day-to-day basis, in personal life, as well as socially/academically. well, as short and sweet as that.
what i'm NOT looking for is picking up people, or any kind of porn. i'm not looking for people to sleep with, i do fine by myself in that department. i'm just wanting to read your regular experiences. if you're into queer studies (literary, sociological, religious, any kind) and discuss books and issues regularly in your journal, i'd love to participate in the discussions. i might bugger you for surveys and/or opinion polls sometimes (but not often, don't be afraid!), so well, a complete absence of creepiness will be appreciated. :)
and eventually, since sexual preference is not the only thing that should define us, i'd probably give be happier to meet people who are closer to my age and interests. i'm female, indian, twentyish, very politely very cynical, a literature student, a grammar nazi, slightly academically inclined and an alt-rock listener. i'm pro- pretty much everything liberal, though i may not practise them in my own life. i don't claim to be "cool" but i can more or less cope. my journal right now will also contain a lot of queer as folk gush, but it can be hoped to disappear in the course of time.
so anything goes, really, as long as you're not a creep, are intelligent enough to spell and hold coherent opinions, and aren't so boring that it's a weapon of mass destruction (and that does take some achievement).
will be looking forward to the responses! (or hoping that the post doesn't get banned in the first place. heh!)
